Final Fantasy 15 Platinum Demo & Release Date:

One of the most anticipated games of 2016 is Final Fantasy 15. With a newly reworked battle system, incredible jaw dropping landscapes, and a fresh take on the series, Final Fantasy 15 has the potential to be my new favorite game. Having been in development since 2013, and finally getting a set release date in September 2016, this latest installment in the Final Fantasy series has long been expected. The newest demo of Final Fantasy 15 (platinum,) was a spectacular look into what to expect from the final product. I was absolutely taken aback by the gorgeous landscapes, and the incredible smoothness of the gameplay. Square Enix has taken very delicate care into developing this incredible game.

I was enamored by the new battle system that felt intuitive and smooth, and was an immediate reminder of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. I even found myself saying they might as well call this Kingdom Hearts 3. Kid Noctis was very reminiscent of Sora, and the real time battle system felt a lot like Kingdom Hearts. The enemies in Final Fantasy even felt a lot like battling the heartless. On top of all that, Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura replaced Nobuo Uematsu in this most recent installment of Final Fantasy, None of that is bad. If anything it was exactly the right move on the part of the developers. If it works, then why not use it? People were so happy with the Kingdom Hearts franchise, why not take the good from that franchise and put it to use?

All in all, playing the Final Fantasy 15 platinum demo was an unforgettable experience, as I’m sure the full game will be. I was blown away by the look and feel of the game, as well as the new innovations added to the game. I had a blast hitting the stone platform and turning into a giant half bear half mammoth and trampling my enemies. 2016 is looking like a fabulous year for gaming.
